8th Grade Party: Co-Chair needed.

Library Committee Chair: Co-Chair needed

Reflections Chair: Oversees Longfellow students' participation in an annual creative expressions competition; Fall committment.

Student Directory: Co-Chair needed.

Special Lectures Committee

Fundraising: Assistant to 2nd VP to coordinate various fundraising events (armchair, restaurant night, mechant sales, Amazon Marketplace and others to be determined by the PTA).

Heritage Night: Co-Chair needed.

School Liaison -- Westgate ES: Act as contact between Longfellow PTA and school to communicate information and strengthen relationship between school communities.

The above volunteer positions require one person per position.

August-Fall Volunteer Opportunities:

Reflections Committee: Oversee annual creative expression competition (November).

Student Directory Committee: Help publish and distribute student directory (September).

Year Round Volunteer Opportunities:

General Volunteer Tasks: Parents willing to be notified when miscellaneous volunteer opportunities arise during the year.

Clinic Volunteers: Answer phones, address student concerns (possibly give out ice or band aids), and call parents if a student needs to go home.

Community Outreach Committee: Help organize school-wide efforts to support those in need in our community (2-3 per year).

Fundraising Committee: Assist with Longfellow PTA fundraising efforts.

Grants Committee: Award PTA funds in the Fall to support classroom projects, after-school clubs and activities.

Hospitality Committee: Host breakfasts and luncheons for faculty and staff (8-10 per year).

Library Committee: Work shifts in the library throughout the year.

School Tour Guide: Give tours to prospective Longfellow families.

Special Lectures Committee: Seek out speakers to address students and parents (2-3 time per year).

Winter/Spring Volunteer Opportunities:

8th Grade Party Committee (FOR Parents of 8th Graders): Plan and execute the end-of-year party for the 8th grade class (May-June).

8th Grade Party Chaperones (FOR Parents of 7th Graders): Chaperone end-of-year party for 8th grade class (June)

Electives Fair Committee: Help with elective fair for rising 7th graders in conjunction with school (February)

Heritage Night: Host a school-wide celebration of Longfellow's many cultures (Spring).

"How to Thrive at Longfellow" Committee: Help organize an introductory session for the parents of rising 7th graders (April).
