Summer Reading Requirement: Every student who will be entering grades six through twelve in the fall must read at least one book over the summer. The Summer Reading lists contain suggestions for reading; although students may read any other book that is approved by their parents, except where individual schools have issued their own summer reading requirements. Any school-based requirements supersede the County requirement. Longfellow students (rising 7th and 8th graders) need to read one book and complete a book report. August 27 - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: LMS Registration

Families can bring their completed forms to the school and/or come to the school if they need help with the forms.  Once a student's completed forms are received, students will receive their locker assignments.  Student ambassadors will be there to assist new students in finding and opening their lockers.

Parent and student volunteers are needed to assist with registration. To volunteer, contact PTA volunteer coordinator, Shanti de Jongh at Shantidej@aol.com.  Student volunteers can get community service credit for helping.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities Available

Haycock ES:  A few community service hours available for about 5 student volunteers to help collate back-to-school folders on Wednesday August 27th at 10am at Haycock Elementary’s cafeteria. Contact Karen Clark with Haycock PTA.
